When we use the term “personal information,” we are referring to information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. We may collect or process the following categories of personal information, including inferences drawn from this personal information, depending on how you interact with the Services, where you live, and as permitted or required by applicable law:
We may collect personal information from the following sources:

In certain circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to third parties for legitimate purposes subject to this Privacy Policy. Such circumstances may include:
The Services are hosted by a third-party vendor, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve the Services for you. Information you submit to the Services will be transmitted to and shared with the third party vendor as well as other third parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside, in order to provide and improve the Services for you. In addition, to help protect, grow, and improve our business, we use certain vendor enhanced features that incorporate data and information obtained from your interactions with our store, along with other merchants and with the third-party vendor. To provide these enhanced features, the vendor may make use of personal information collected about your interactions with our store, along with other merchants, and with the vendor. In these circumstances, the third-party vendor is responsible for the processing of your personal information, including for responding to your requests to exercise your rights over use of your personal information for these purposes. Depending on where you live, you may exercise certain rights with respect to your personal information.
The Services may provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated or controlled by us, you should review their privacy and security policies and other terms and conditions. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information found on these sites. Information you provide on public or semi-public venues, including information you share on third-party social networking platforms may also be viewable by other users of the Services and/or users of those third-party platforms without limitation as to its use by us or by a third party. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators, except as disclosed on the Services.
The Services are not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information about children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with their personal information, you may contact us using the contact details set out below to request that it be deleted. As of the Effective Date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we “share” or “sell” (as those terms are defined in applicable law) personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee “perfect security.” In addition, any information you send to us may not be secure while in transit. We recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to communicate sensitive or confidential information to us.
How long we retain your personal information depends on different factors, such as whether we need the information to maintain your account, to provide you with Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce other applicable contracts and policies.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights listed below in relation to your personal information. However, these rights are not absolute, may apply only in certain circumstances and, in certain cases, we may decline your request as permitted by law.
If you reside in the UK or European Economic Area, and subject to exceptions and limitations provided by local law, you may exercise the following rights in addition to the rights outlined above:
You may exercise any of these rights where indicated on the Services or by contacting us using the contact details provided below.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We may need to verify your identity before we can process your requests, as permitted or required under applicable law. In accordance with applicable laws, you may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf to exercise your rights. Before accepting such a request from an agent, we will require that the agent provide proof you have authorized them to act on your behalf, and we may need you to verify your identity directly with us. We will respond to your request in a timely manner as required under applicable law.
This section applies to residents of California and adds to the rest of this Privacy Policy. It is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”). Terms such as “personal information,” “sensitive personal information,” “sell” and “share” have the meanings given to them in the CCPA.
Notice at Collection. This section, together with the rest of this Privacy Policy, is our notice at collection. It tells you, before or at the time we collect your personal information, the categories we collect, why we collect them, whether we sell or share them, and how long we keep them. A link to it appears in the footer of every page of the Services and wherever we ask you for personal information.
Categories We Collect. We collect the following categories of personal information described in the CCPA: identifiers (such as your name, postal address, email address, IP address, and cookie and other online identifiers); customer records (such as your phone number, billing address and payment card information); commercial information (such as products you viewed, purchased or returned); internet or other electronic network activity information (such as how you interact with the Services and with our advertisements); and inferences drawn from the information above. The sources of this information, and the business and commercial purposes for which we use it, are described above under “Personal Information Sources” and “How We Use Your Personal Information.”
Sensitive Personal Information. When you make a purchase, your payment card number and security code are collected by us or our payment processor. The CCPA treats this as sensitive personal information. We use it only to process your payment and to prevent fraud.
Disclosure, Sale and Sharing. We disclose each category of personal information listed above to the service providers and contractors described under “How We Disclose Personal Information,” for the business purposes described there. We also make identifiers, internet or other electronic network activity information, commercial information and inferences available to advertising partners and affiliate marketing networks through cookies, pixels and similar technologies, for advertising, for measuring advertising, and for crediting and paying the partners who refer customers to us. The CCPA may treat this as a “sale” or as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Categories of Third Parties. We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients: (1) service providers and contractors that process it on our behalf and under contract, such as payment processing, fraud prevention, fulfillment and shipping, hosting, IT, customer support and email providers; (2) advertising networks and platforms; (3) analytics providers; and (4) affiliate marketing networks and the publishers and partners they work with. Recipients in categories (2), (3) and (4) may use the information for their own purposes, which is why the CCPA may treat these disclosures as a sale or as sharing.
Your Right to Opt Out. You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. To do so, use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer of every page, or email compliance@bloodbalanced.com. You do not need an account, and we will not ask you to verify your identity to opt out. We will stop selling and sharing your personal information as soon as we can, and in any case within 15 business days, and we will wait at least 12 months before asking you to opt back in. We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age.
Opt-Out Preference Signals. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal, or any other opt-out preference signal recognized under the CCPA, as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing for the browser or device that sends it, and for any account we can link to that browser or device. We do this without asking you to confirm, and without showing you any notice that interferes with the request.
Retention. We keep each category of personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Order, payment and customer records are kept for as long as needed to fulfill orders, handle returns, refunds, chargebacks and disputes, and meet our tax and accounting obligations. Communications are kept for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and any related dispute. Device, usage, cookie and advertising information is kept for as long as needed for security, fraud prevention, advertising measurement and paying referral partners.
Your California Rights. You have the rights described above under “Your Rights and Choices,” including the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, the categories of sources, the purposes for which we use it and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose, sell or share it; the right to delete; the right to correct; and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How to Make a Request. We operate only online and have a direct relationship with our customers, so you may submit a request by emailing compliance@bloodbalanced.com. We will confirm that we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, up to a further 45 days, we will tell you why. To verify your identity, we will match information you give us, such as your name, email address and a recent order number, against our records. An authorized agent may make a request for you as described above.
Direct Marketing Disclosures. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 allows California residents to ask for information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. To make that request, email compliance@bloodbalanced.com.
Automated Decision-Making. To protect you and us from fraud, we use an automated fraud screening service. When you place an order, it assesses information such as your IP address, email address, device and browser information, billing and shipping details, and payment card information, and compares these with patterns associated with fraud. It produces a risk score. Based on that score, an order may be approved, held for review, or declined automatically. We use this screening only to prevent fraud and to keep our payment processing secure, and we do not use it for advertising. If your order is declined or held and you believe this is a mistake, email compliance@bloodbalanced.com and a member of our team will review the order and the decision. Opting out of the sale or sharing of your personal information does not switch off fraud screening.
Review of This Notice. We review this Privacy Policy, including this section, at least once every 12 months, and before we begin using any new tool or partner that collects personal information through the Services.
If you have complaints about how we process your personal information, please contact us using the contact details provided below. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to appeal our decision by contacting us using the contact details set out below, or lodge your complaint with your local data protection authority. For the EEA, you can find a list of the responsible data protection supervisory authorities here.
Please note that we may transfer, store and process your personal information outside the country you live in.
If we transfer your personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we will rely on recognized transfer mechanisms like the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or any equivalent contracts issued by the relevant competent authority of the UK, as relevant, unless the data transfer is to a country that has been determined to provide an adequate level of protection.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised Privacy Policy on this website, update the “Last updated” date and provide notice as required by applicable law.
